FAQs

Although we do have plans to make our playback rigs rentable in the future, at the moment systems are only rentable in combination with our playback engineering booking.

OKPB builts boutique systems soley on customer‘s demand. We do not maintain a warehouse with pre-assembled systems, hardware components or parts. Since availability and prices of components and devices are rather volatile these days, we ask clients to get in contact so we can understand their objectives, give an estimate on a system‘s delivery time and make you a current purchase offer.
Rates for Ableton Live Programming and Ableton Live Operating (Playback Engineering) also depend on individual factors forming around the client’s objective for their show and performance. Please get in touch to inquire prices and rates for your project.

At this point we do not offer training on how to become a playback engineer. However, we plan to eventually introduce a dedicated training course or mentor-/internship program in the future.

After an initial personal conversation about your project, its objectives and budget, OKPB will prompt you to send the mixed / mastered audio files needed for your live set. Audio files need to meet the following standards: Consistent sample rate of 44.1 KHz or 48 kHz // clean edits // consistent naming of files // song tempi // song keys.
If your show involves vocal processing with Autotune, please also transmit the music key infos and if possible UAD-presets.
If MIDI Instruments are involved in your performance, we will need to receive the respective audio samples from your production (e.g. drum samples) or the respective VST-instruments. The process of programming a live show happens in close communication with the client, making sure, OKPB has all the info and material we need from you, as well as you as client being informed about the individual steps we take to finish your stage-ready Ableton Live Set. At the end of the process you will receive a .zip file with your Ableton Live Set and all involved files. A personal instruction-session (in person or online) on how to navigate your show will get you ready to take off with your performance. Please do not hesitate to get in contact and get all the answers you need.
